Over the past 5 years, the Western Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies Wild Sheep Working Group has collaborated with the U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management to develop GIS maps for 14 western states. These maps depict current bighorn sheep distribution, juxtaposed with active and vacant domestic sheep grazing allotments, vacant cattle allotments, and where known and digitized, domestic sheep trailing areas. These maps will be updated in late spring/early summer each year, to incorporate changes in bighorn sheep distribution and/or changes in domestic sheep grazing allotments.”
