Wildlife biologist spent weeks catching lesser prairie chickens for release...

The Lesser Prairie-Chicken Translocation project wrapped up trapping in Kansas recently. The project moved birds from Kansas to Colorado.  Wildlife biologists are documenting movements that have never before been recorded, providing direct feedback to inform habitat management, and adding critical data to range-wide management of lesser prairie-chickens that will inform future policy decisions. This is the largest translocation effort of lesser prairie-chickens ever completed.
